Salsa Roja and Tacos

Salsa Roja and Tacos

This delicious salsa is so easy to make and can easily be refrigerated for a few weeks. It goes great on tacos, enchiladas, tostados or just sitting down for some chips and salsa.

Ingredients

10-12 roma tomatoes, roasted
1 jalapeno pepper, roasted
1 serrano pepper, roasted
3 chili de arbol
1 small red onion
1 tbsp minced garlic
1 bunch cilantro
Salt to taste
Juice of two limes
Prepared tacos

Instructions

Place the tomatoes, jalapeño and serrano peppers on a baking sheet and place under your oven broiler to lightly “char” them. Remove from the broiler and let them rest until cool.

Add the tomatoes, peppers, chili de arbol (dried peppers), red onion, minced garlic, bunch of cilantro. blend everything together in your blender.

Pour the salsa into a large pot and simmer on the stove for about 15 minutes. Let cool and serve with your favorite chips and or tacos.
