Cauliflower Pizza Crust Pizza

Cauliflower Crust Pizza

This recipe is inspired by my friends at the American Heart Association. I have adapted this to meet by busy schedule and you can choose to make my version of the recipe or the recipe from the American Heart Association, Cauliflower Crust Pizza .

Ingredients

4 cups shredded cauliflower
3 eggs
1 cup shredded parmesan cheese
1 cup tomato sauce
2 tbsp dried oregano
2 tbsp dried basil
2 cups meat substitute protein
1 cup sliced button mushrooms
1 bunch sliced green onions
1/2 cup sun dried tomatoes, rehydrated and thinly sliced
1 bell pepper, thinly sliced
1 cup mozzarella cheese

Instructions

1
Preheat your oven to 400 degree’s.
2
To make the cauliflower crust simply shred the head of cauliflower in your food processor and transfer to a large bowl. If it’s more than four cups simply reserve the extra for another pizza.
3
To the shredded cauliflower, add the eggs and shredded parmesan cheese. Mix everything together to combine.
4
Spray a pizza pan with vegetable oil and press the prepared cauliflower crust onto the pan so its about 16 inches round. You want to create a thin cauliflower crust so adjust as needed. Bake in your preheated oven for about 20 minutes or until the cauliflower crust start to turn golden brown. Remove from the oven and let it cool for 10 minutes.
5
In a large bowl mix the tomato sauce, oregano and basil together to combine.
6
Brown off the meat substitute so it is fully cooked, set aside.
7
To build the pizza, take the cooked cauliflower crust and spread the prepared tomato sauce over over the crust.
8
Sprinkle the cooked meat substitute over the pizza followed by the remaining ingredients and mozzarella cheese.
9
Place back in the oven for 10 minutes or until the cheese is melted, bubbling and beginning to turn golden brown.
10
Remove from the oven, cut, serve and enjoy!
