Deep Fried Mushrooms

Deep Fried Mushrooms

While in college, these tasty morsels were a favorite with friends while we solved world problems. Enjoy these great appetizers with cauliflower and zucchini too while solving world problems!

Ingredients

1 pound white mushrooms
4 eggs
1/2 cup milk
4 cups Italian seasoned bread crumbs
1 cup mayonnaise
1 tsp onion powder
1 tsp garlic powder
2 tsp dry dill
1/2 tsp lemon extract
Vegetable oil
Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

Prepare a pan to deep fry in and pre-heat to 375 degrees.

Brush the mushrooms of any visible dirt and set aside.

Whisk the eggs and milk together. Dip the mushrooms in the egg mixture and dredge in the Italian breadcrumbs until they are well coated.

Deep fry the mushrooms in batches until they are golden brown. If desires, slice up some zucchini and cauliflower to dip fry too. Place the deep fried mushrooms on a plate lined with paper towels while you make the dipping sauce.

To make the dipping sauce in a mixing bowl combine the mayonnaise, onion and garlic powders, dill and lemon extract. Mix until combined and add any salt and pepper as needed. Serve and enjoy!
