Ingredients

⅓ cup white sugar
¼ cup packed brown sugar
¼ cup honey
1 tablespoon water
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
¾ teaspoon ground ginger
½ teaspoon ground cardamom
¼ teaspoon ground nutmeg
¼ teaspoon ground allspice
¼ teaspoon ground cloves
⅛ teaspoon ground cayenne pepper
½ tablespoon kosher salt
1 teaspoon baking soda
2 tablespoons heavy cream
1 large egg, beaten
2 ½ cups all-purpose flour

Instructions

1
In a saucepan, combine white and brown sugars, honey, water, and a medley of spices. Simmer until sugars dissolve, creating a fragrant mix.
2
Add salt, baking soda, heavy cream, and beaten egg. Whisk until a dough forms, then stir in flour until fully combined.
3
Wrap the dough tightly in plastic and let it rest in the refrigerator for 1 to 2 days to intensify the flavors.
4
When ready to bake, preheat the oven and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
5
Scoop rounded teaspoons of dough, roll into balls, and place on prepared sheets.
6
Bake until perfectly dome-shaped with golden brown bottoms, ensuring a soft center.
7
Let cookies cool on the pan before repeating the shaping and baking process.
8
Prepare the icing by mixing powdered sugar and lemon juice until thick yet slightly runny.
9
Dip the cooled cookies into the icing, letting it drip before placing them on a wire rack to harden.
10
Relish in the joy of your homemade Pfeffernüsse – share, savor, and spread the holiday spirit!

I think I looked everywhere, but a baking temperature isn’t given. I’m trying 350 because that’s pretty standard. It also doesn’t have the time it takes to bake. It does recommend watching it and gives a comment about what they should look like when they’re done. I feel like those 2 directions should be included in the recipe.
