Indulge in the spooktacular spirit of Halloween with these delicious Blood Bites! Created by the talented Chef Bryan Woolley, these treats are not only delightful but also incredibly easy to make. Perfect for your Halloween gatherings or as a creepy snack for trick-or-treaters, these eerie delights will surely be a hit. Follow this step-by-step recipe to conjure up these terrifyingly tasty Blood Bites.

Ingredients

1 red velvet cake mix
3 tbsp prepared vanilla frosting
2 packages of vanilla candy coating
1 bottle prepared white cake drip
Red food coloring

Instructions

1
Prepare the Red Velvet Cake: Follow the instructions on the red velvet cake mix box to make the cake. Allow it to cool completely.
2
Create Cake Dough: Crumble the cooled cake into a large bowl. Add about 3 tablespoons of frosting or enough to make the crumbled cake into a soft dough.
3
Form Bite-Sized Balls: Portion out the prepared cake dough and roll it into small bite-sized balls.
4
Place the cake balls on a sheet of parchment paper and allow them to dry for approximately 30 minutes.
5
Apply the Crumb Coat: Melt one package of vanilla candy coating. Dip each cake ball into the melted candy coating and place them back on the parchment paper. Let them set completely. This is the crumb coat.
6
Apply the Final Coating: Melt the other package of candy coating. Dip the prepared blood bites into the fresh candy coating and place them on the parchment paper. Let them cool and set completely.
7
Create the "Blood" Drizzle: Microwave the prepared cake drip bottle according to the package directions. Remove it from the microwave and add several drops of red food coloring into the bottle. Shake to mix until you achieve a "blood" red color.
8
Drizzle the "Blood": Drizzle the prepared cake drip over the blood bites and allow them to set.
9
Serve and Enjoy: Serve these eerie Blood Bites alongside your favorite Halloween treats and watch your guests be enchanted by the spooky deliciousness.
