Chicken Parmesan Casserole

Chicken Parmesan Casserole

Quick and easy, this chicken parmesan casserole will bring a smile to your family and friends. Serve with your favorite side dishes and enjoy a delicious twist on this Italian classic chicken parmesan dish.

Ingredients

3 chicken breasts, butterflied
2 cups prepared marinara sauce
1 cup crispy fried onions
1 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
1 cup shredded parmesan cheese
1 cup shredded Mexican style cheese
4 cups Italian style croutons
Olive oil
Salt and pepper

Instructions

Preheat the oven to 350 degree’s.

Heat a large sauté pan on the stove and drizzle with enough olive oil to lightly coat the bottom of the pan. Salt and pepper the butterflied chicken breasts and pan sear them until they are golden brown. Remove from the pan and place in a 9x13 baking dish that has been sprayed with vegetable spray.

Pour 1 1/2 cups of prepared marinara sauce over the chicken breasts, sprinkle with the crispy fried onions (same kind of onions you would use for a green bean casserole) and the shredded cheese.

Sprinkle the Italian style croutons over the shredded cheese and press them down into the chicken and sauce. Pour the remaining sauce over the croutons.

Place the chicken parmesan casserole into the oven and bake for 30-45 minutes or until the chicken breasts are throughly cooked through (165 degree’s internally).

Remove from the oven, let rest for 10 minutes before serving. Enjoy!
