Delicious and easy cherry chocolate biscottis with orange are a must for any holiday dessert table. Perfect for dunking in sweet dessert wine, coffee or hot chocolate. Whip up these wonderful treats for your family and freicnes.

Ingredients

½ cup sugar
¼ cup honey
¼ cup molasses
¼ cup soften butter
¼ cup cocoa powder
1 tbsp orange zest or 1 tsp orange extract
3 tbsp cherry kirsch
1 tbsp vanilla
1 tsp salt
1 tbsp baking powder
3 eggs
3 cups flour
1 cup dried cherries or cranberries (coarsely chopped)
1 cup almonds
Glaze: 1 cup powdered sugar
1 tsp orange zest
1 tbsp milk

Instructions

1
In large bowl, combine sugar, honey, molasses, butter, and cocoa powder; beat until well blended.
2
Add orange zest (or orange extract), cherry kirsch, vanilla, salt, baking powder, and eggs; beat well.
3
Stir in flour and mix well.
4
Stir in dried cherries or cranberries and almonds.
5
With spray-coated hands, shape dough into 1 large log about 12 inches long and 4 inches wide. Carefully flatten the top of the log.
6
Bake in a preheated 350 for about 18-25 minutes. Toothpick should come out clean when done. Remove from the oven and completely cool.
7
With a serrated knife, cut baked biscotti log into 1/2 inch slices and place them back on the baking sheet.
8
Bake the slices for an additional 6-8 minutes or until top surface is dried out.
9
Turn cookies over; bake an additional 6 to 8 minutes or until top surface is dried out.
10
Remove cookies from cookie sheets; cool completely on wire racks.
11
In small bowl, combine all glaze ingredients, adding enough milk for desired drizzling consistency. Drizzle over cookies.
12
Let stand until glaze is set. Store tightly covered.
