Easy Dutch Oven Potatoes

Easy Dutch Oven Potatoes

I grew up eating dutch oven potatoes. My dad made the best potatoes and while out in the great outdoors, there was nothing better. Whether you’re camping or not, enjoy these delicious dutch oven potatoes!

Ingredients

8-10 medium russet potatoes
1 large onion sliced
12 slices of bacon
1/3 cup olive oil
1/2 cup water
2 cups grated sharp cheddar cheese
Olive oil
Salt and freshly cracked pepper

Instructions

1
Preheat your oven to 350 degree's. Peel and slice potatoes. Rinse well and set aside in a large bowl of salty water.
2
Drizzle bout 1/4 cup of the olive oil into the bottom of the dutch oven.
3
Layer the bacon, potato slices and onions. Salt and pepper each layer to taste.
4
Pour the water and remaining olive oil over the top of the potatoes once you finish layering them. I like to finish with the bacon on top!
5
Place lid on dutch oven and bake in your preheated oven for approximately 45 minutes or until the potatoes are tender.
6
When potatoes are tender, remove the dutch oven lid and sprinkle the top with shredded cheese. Replace the cover and bake an additional 10 minutes to melt the cheese.
7
Serve and Enjoy!
