Bacon Mac and Cheese

Bacon Mac and Cheese

Here’s the ultimate comfort dish combine both pasta and bacon! Be sure to make enough for leftovers because this is a great reheated dish!

Ingredients

2 pounds elbow macaroni, cooked to instructions on pkg
4 cups frozen assorted vegetables
1/2 pound bacon, chopped
1/2 cup flour
2-3 cups milk
2 cups assorted cheese

Instructions

Cook the pasta according to the package instructions. Add the frozen vegetables to the pasta while its cooking. Strain and set aside until ready to use.

In the same large pot you cooked the pasta in, add the chopped bacon and cook until crispy.

If there is an excess amount of grease in the pan, drain of extra so there is about 1/4 cup grease in the pan.

Sprinkle the bacon with the flour and stir together the flour and bacon together incorporating the bacon grease into the flour.

Add the milk and stir to combine, bring to a boil to thicken. Remove from the heat and stir in the assorted cheese of your choice. Stir together until cheese has melted.

Add the cooked macaroni and vegetable into the cheese sauce. Stir to combine. Serve and Enjoy!
