Turnovers

Turnovers

Easy to make and delicious, fruit turnovers were a staple in my house growing up.

Ingredients

1 package puff pastry sheets
1 can apple pie filling or fruit of your choice
1 egg
1 tbsp water
1 cup powdered sugar
1-2 tbsp can milk

Instructions

1
Cut the puff pastry sheet into fourths.
2
Place a 2 tablespoon of apple pie filling into the center of the center of each newly divided puff pastry sheet.
3
Whisk your egg and 1 tbsp water in a small bowl. Brush the edges of squares with the egg wash so they seal better.
4
Fold the puff pastry square over on top of itself forming a triangle.
5
Using a fork, seal the edges. Place newly formed turn over onto a parchment lined baking sheet and continue until all turnovers are created.
6
Brush the tops with egg wash and bake in a preheated 350 degree oven.
7
Bake for about 20 minutes or until golden brown. When finished, remove and cool
8
Remove and cool. While the turnovers are cooling, mix the powdered sugar and can milk together. Adjust powdered sugar or can milk to reach your desired constancy of frosting/glaze.
9
Drizzle the turnovers with the glaze/frosting, serve and enjoy!
