Fish Burger with French Fries

Fish Burgers with French Fries

I love good fish burgers and especially those that are made with real fish filets.

Ingredients

4 cod filets, unthawed
2 eggs
1 cup flour
2 cups panko bread crumbs
1 cup mayonnaise
2 tsp finely minced pickled jalapeños
1 tbsp dill relish
2 tsp dill
1 tbsp fresh lemon juice
Condiments of your choice
Vegetable oil for frying
Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

1
If the cod fillets are too big, slice them in half so you have a fillet size that easily fits on your hamburger buns.
2
Add the flour to a shallow bowl. Whisk the eggs into a shallow bowl. Add the bread crumbs to a shallow bowl.
3
Dredge the cod fillets in flour, dip in the eggs and dredge the in the panko bread crumbs. If desired, dip the breaded fillet in the eggs a second time and dredge in the bread crumbs a second time for a extra crispy coating.
4
Place the prepared cod fillets in the refrigerator for 30 minutes and prepared the tartar sauce.
5
To make the tarter sauce, add the mayonnaise to a small bowl along with the pickled jalapeños, dill relish, dill and fresh lemon juice. Mix everything together and adjust salt and pepper to taste.
6
To assemble the fish burgers, heat the oil to 350 degree’s making sure you have enough oil to deep fry the fillets to golden brown (about 6 minutes).
7
Spread some of the freshly made tater sauce on your hamburger buns along with a slice of cheese, some sliced tomatoes and lettuce. Serve with your favorites sides, I like to make french fries and serve with my fish sandwiches.
