Cheesy Mac and Cheese with Grilled Steak:Chicken and Veggies

Cheesy Mac and Cheese with Grilled Steak/Chicken and Veggies

Homemade mac and cheese with grilled steak or chicken is the ultimate comfort food. Add some grill vegetables to the dish and you have one amazing dinner!

Ingredients

1 pound elbow macaroni
4 tbsp flour
4 tbsp butter
4 cloves garlic, minced
1/4 finely minced onion
4 cups milk
1 tbsp dijon mustard
2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
2 cups shredded cheese, your choice
4 rib eye steaks or 2 chicken breasts (butterflied)
1 bunch asparagus
4 large carrots
Salt and pepper

Instructions

1
Salt and pepper the steak and chicken as desired and set aside until ready to cook.
2
Follow the directions on the package for cooking the pasta as directed. About the last 2 minutes of cooking, add the carrots and asparagus. I cut the tops and bottoms off of the carrots and about 1 inch off of the bottom of the asparagus of which I have washed earlier.
3
To make the cheese sauce, melt the butter in a large sauté pan and saute the minced garlic an onion in the butter. Add the flour and mix the butter and flour together.
4
Slowly whisk in the milk and bring to a boil. Add the dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce and shredded cheese...stir until it has melted and the cheese sauce is smooth. If needed, strain the cheese sauce to remove any lumps of flour that didn’t get mixed in.
5
Add the cook pasta to the cheese sauce and carefully stir together and set aside.
6
Grill the steak to desire donees and fully cook the chicken to 165 degree’s internally. Depending on how large the carrots are, slice them in half lengthwise and add them and asparagus to the grill and finish grilling the vegetables for about 5 minutes.
7
Serve the grilled steak/chicken with the cheesy mac and cheese along with the grilled vegetables. Enjoy!
