Boston Clam Chowder

Boston Clam Chowder

Delicious, creamy and easy to make, this Boston clam chowder is perfect for dinner. I like to bake up some Rhodes Bake and Serve Rolls to complete my dinner menu.

Ingredients

4 tbsp butter
2 tbsp olive oil
1 large onion, diced
1 cup diced carrot
1 cup diced celery
2 russet potatoes, peeled and diced
1/3 cup flour
1 large can of clams, 51 oz (juice and all)
8-10 cups milk
2-3 tbsp chicken bullion or to taste
Freshly Baked Rhodes rolls

Instructions

1
Heat a large pot on the stove and add the butter and olive oil. Add the diced onion, carrot, celery and potatoes to the hot pot and sauté for about 5 minutes.
2
Sprinkle the mixture with the flour and stir the flour into the fat and vegetables.
3
Pour the can of clams, milk and chicken bullion into the chowder while stirring.
4
Bring to simmer and continue cooking for about 25 minutes while stirring occasionally.
5
Bake some fresh Rhodes Rolls to serve with your homemade clam chowder.
