Roasted Turkey Breast and Gravy

Roasted Turkey Breast and Gravy

By far my favorite, turkey breasts are easy to roast and to clean up. This easy recipe is perfect for Thanksgiving or anytime of the year! If you would rather roast a whole turkey, try this Rosemary Orange Turkey.  Add some cranberry deviled eggs,  mashed potatoes and gravy, green bean casserole, and candied yams to help complete your Thanksgiving feast!

Ingredients

1 turkey breast, thawed
1 tbsp season salt
1 tbsp black pepper
Vegetable Spray
Pan Gravy: 4 tbsp butter
4 tbsp flour
6 cups turkey drippings
1 can evaporated milk
Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

1
Preheat your oven to 350 degree’s.
2
Spray a baking pan with vegetable spray and place the thawed turkey breast into the prepared baking pan. Be sure to remove any gravy packet. Prepare the gravy packet according to the manufacturers directions if desired.
3
Place the turkey breast in the pre-heated oven and roast until the internal temperature reaches 165 degree’s Fahrenheit. Time will vary depending on the size of the turkey breast and your oven but plan on about an 1 - 1 1/2 hours.
4
Once the turkey breast reaches 165 degree’s internally, remove from the oven, and let it rest for 10 minutes before carving.
5
To make the pan gravy, add the butter and melt it in the sauté pan. Add the flour to the melted butter and mix together.
6
Add the turkey drippings and evaporated milk to the butter and flour mixture whisking everything together to combine. While stirring, bring the gravy to a boil, remove from the heat and serve your mashed potatoes and turkey. Salt and pepper to taste.
