Best Ever Margherita Pizza
This delicious Margherita pizza is the best one you’ll ever make. Filled with the flavors of Naples, Italy, this pizza will definitely bring a smile to your face! I like serving this pizza with my homemade Caesar Salad which can be found here.
Ingredients
For the dough:
4 cups flour
1 tsp instant yeast
1/3 cup extra virgin olive oil
1 tbsp season salt
1 1/2 cups water
For the Sauce:
1 can Italian style diced tomatoes, 14.5 oz can
2 tsp minced garlic
2 tbsp freshly chopped basil
For the Toppings:
1 cup parmesan cheese
16-20 slices mozzarella cheese
2 tomatoes, sliced
2 tbsp dried basil or fresh if in season

To make the dough, add the flour, instant yeast, extra virgin olive oil, season salt and water into the bowl of your mixer. Mix/knead for about 15 minutes. Spray a bowl and the dough with vegetable spray and let it double in size.

Preheat your oven to 500 degree’s with a pizza stone in it.

Dived the dough into two equal portions and roll each into a 16 inch (approximately) round. Brush each pizza dough with extra virgin olive oil.

To make the sauce, add the diced tomatoes, minced garlic and basil to a large bowl. Using a whisk, “mash” everything together to combine.

Divide the sauce, shredded parmesan cheese, sliced mozzarella and the sliced tomatoes between each pizza round. Sprinkle with dried basil, lightly drizzle extra virgin olive oil over the prepared pizzas.

Place the pizzas in the preheated oven (right on the hot pizza stone) and bake until the crust is golden brown. Remove from the oven and top with fresh basil (if available), slice, serve and enjoy!
