3-4 cups sliced mushrooms
1 medium onion, diced
2-3 tbsp flour
1/4 cup ketchup
2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
3 cups beef broth
Instructions
1
To make the salisbury steak, add the ground hamburger, black pepper, dry mustard, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, soy sauce, egg, cayenne pepper and Italian bread crumbs to a large bowl. Mix everything together and shape into 4 oval shape patties. Salt and pepper as needed.

Cook the Salisbury steaks for about 3 minutes on each side and remove from the pan and set aside.

To make the gravy, melt the butter in a large sauté pan and add the sliced mushrooms and onions to the pan. Sauté until the mushrooms are beautifully caramelized.

Once the mushrooms and onions are caramelized, sprinkle with the flour and saute for an additional 3-4 minutes. Add the ketchup, Worcestershire sauce and the beef broth. Stir everything together, bring to a boil, reduce the heat to a simmer and cook until thickened up. Taste and adjust for salt and pepper as needed.

Finish cooking the Salisbury steaks in the gravy, serve with buttery mashed potatoes and green beans on the side. Enjoy!
