Turkey Burgers

Turkey Sliders

Melt in your mouth turkey sliders topped with tomato, avocado, mushrooms and cheese!

Ingredients

8 whole grain slider buns
1 1/4 pounds ground turkey breast
1/4 tsp salt
1 cup sliced crimini mushrooms
8 slices low-fat Swiss cheese
3 small avocados, meat removed and smashed
1 medium tomato, cut into 8 slices

Instructions

Preheat your oven to 350 degree's.

Add the salt the the ground turkey mixing throughly. Shape the ground turkey into 8 slider patties and place them on a baking sheet that has been lightly sprayed with canola oil.

Place the patties in the oven and bake them off until they are fully cooked through and the internal temperature reaches 165 degree's Fahrenheit (About 15 minutes).

Heat a large sauce pan on the stove and lightly spray with cooking spray. Sauté the sliced mushrooms for 5 minutes allowing them to release their juices and caramelize.

Cut open the slider buns and place them on a baking sheet. On the bottom half of the slider buns, equally divide the sautéed mushrooms between the buns and top with the sliced Swiss cheese. Place in the oven to melt the cheese and warm the buns.

When the turkey sliders are fully cooked, remove from the oven place them on top of the melted cheese (prepared buns). Top with a tomato slice and divide the mashed avocado between the 8 top buns before placing the bun tops back onto the sliders. Serve and Enjoy!
