Taco Style Pizza

Taco Style Pizza

Two of my favorite foods, tacos and pizza combine together to make this delicious pizza.

Ingredients

For the Dough: 1 1/2 cups water
1/3 cup olive oil
4 cups flour
2 tsp salt
1 tbsp sugar
2 tsp instant yeast
For the Sauce: 2 cups prepared salsa
2 cups prepared pizza sauce
1 cup queso fresco
For the Toppings: 1 pound Italian mild sausage
1 packet taco seasoning
Shredded Mozzarella cheese
1 cup sliced olives
6-8 roma tomatoes, chopped
1 head iceberg lettuce, chopped

Instructions

To make the dough, add the water, olive oil, flour, salt, sugar and instant yeast into the bowl of your mixer. Mix/knead for 10 minutes. Spray the dough with vegetable spray and cover. Allow to double in size (couple of hours).

Preheat your oven to 450 degree’s

Divide the dough into 2 portions and roll each portion into a round pizza (about 16-18 inches round).

Divide the sauce between the two pizza as well as the toppings. I like to put the shredded mozzarella cheese (about 2 cups per pizza) on top of the sauce followed by the meat.

After you add the meat, bake off the pizza on a pre-heat pizza stone or on a baking sheet in your pre-heated oven until the crust is golden and the cheese is bubbling.

Remove the pizza from the oven and top with chopped olives, tomatoes and shredded lettuce. Cut, serve and enjoy!
