Spicy Thai Basil Chicken (Pad Krapow Gai)

Spicy Thai Basil Chicken (Pad Krapow Gai)

This bold and aromatic dish combines ground chicken, Thai basil, and spicy chilies in a savory sauce served over jasmine rice. It’s quick to prepare and packed with delicious flavors, making it perfect for a busy weekday dinner or an exciting culinary adventure.

Ingredients

1 lb ground chicken
2 tbsp soy sauce
1 tbsp oyster sauce
1 tbsp fish sauce
1 tbsp honey
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 Thai chili, sliced (adjust to spice preference)
1/2 cup Thai basil leaves
2 cups cooked jasmine rice

Instructions

1
Cook the Chicken: In a hot skillet or wok, sauté garlic and Thai chili in oil for 1-2 minutes until fragrant. Add the ground chicken and cook until browned and fully cooked, breaking it up into crumbles as it cooks.
2
Make the Sauce & Serve: Stir in the soy sauce, oyster sauce, fish sauce, and honey. Let it cook for another 2-3 minutes to meld the flavors. Toss in the Thai basil leaves and cook for 1 more minute, just until wilted. If you can't find Thai Basil, use regular basil.
3
Serve: Spoon the spicy chicken over jasmine rice and garnish with extra basil if desired.
