This delicious steak sandwich is a great idea for dinner. Inspired from the “Beef, It’s What’s for Dinner” campaign, this recipe is sure to be a crowd pleaser!

Ingredients

1 beef Top Sirloin Steak about 3/4 inch thick, 1 pound steak
1 garlic clove, minced
2 tsp steak seasoning
2 mini baguette rolls
1/4 cup crumbled blue cheese, optional
Marmalade: 2 tbsp olive oil
3 large red onions, thinly sliced
1/2 cup red wine or red cooking wine
1/4 cup finely chopped pitted prunes
1/4 cup fig preserve
2 tbsp red wine vinegar
2 tsp freshly chopped thyme
1/4 tsp salt

Instructions

1
Preheat your grill.
2
Rub the sirloin steak with the minced garlic and your favorite steak seasoning.
3
Grill the steak to medium rare and let it rest for 10 minutes and slice into thin slices.
4
Slice the baguettes in half and grill them to put grill marks on the baguettes.
5
To make the red onion marmalade, place the sliced red onions in a sauce pan with the olive oil. Cook down the sliced onions until they are caramelized, stirring often.
6
Add the red wine, chopped prunes and fig preserves. Stir to combine everything and simmer for an additional 3 minutes to reduce the red wine.
7
Remove from the heat and stir in the freshly chopped thyme and salt. Set aside until ready to use.
8
Evenly layer each baguette half with some of the red onion marmalade and steak slices. Serve and enjoy!
