Savory Herb-Crusted Strip Steaks

Perfect for a family dinner or a special occasion, this recipe combines fresh herbs, zesty lemon peel, and garlic to create a mouthwatering crust that enhances the natural flavors of the beef. Get ready to impress with a steak that’s as easy to prepare as it is delicious.

Ingredients

2 boneless beef Strip Steaks, cut 1 inch thick (about 10 ounces each)
Salt, to taste
2 tablespoons fresh thyme, chopped
1 tablespoon fresh oregano, chopped
2 teaspoons freshly grated lemon peel
3 cloves garlic, chopped
1/4 teaspoon pepper

Instructions

Prepare the Seasoning: In a small bowl, combine chopped thyme, oregano, grated lemon peel, chopped garlic, and pepper. Reserve 2 teaspoons of the mixture for garnish.

Season the Steaks: Press the remaining seasoning evenly onto both sides of the beef strip steaks.

Grill the Steaks: Place the steaks on a grill over medium, ash-covered coals. Grill, covered, for 11 to 14 minutes (or 11 to 15 minutes on a preheated gas grill) for medium-rare (145°F) to medium (160°F) doneness. Turn the steaks occasionally for even cooking.

Serve: Carve the steaks into slices. Sprinkle with the reserved seasoning and add salt to taste. We served some grilled potato wedges and vegetables on the side.
