Ingredients

1 boneless beef Strip Steak
1 tablespoon olive oil
1-1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
12 slices French bread, cut 1 inch thick
12 arugula leaves
Horseradish Whip: 2 teaspoons horseradish
3/4 cup heavy cream
2 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese
3 tablespoons chives

Instructions

1
Preheat your oven to 350°F.
2
In a large nonstick skillet over medium heat, heat olive oil. Season the strip steak on both sides with salt and pepper. Cook the steak for 12 to 15 minutes, achieving a medium rare (145°F) to medium (160°F) doneness, turning occasionally. Remove the steak and let it rest.
3
For an alternative, use leftover strip roast. Slice the roast into 1/4-inch pieces and reheat in a covered skillet over low heat for 4 to 6 minutes.
4
Place the sliced bread on a baking sheet in a single layer. Bake in a 350°F oven for about 10 minutes or until lightly toasted but not brown. Set aside.
5
Horseradish Whip: In a medium-sized mixing bowl, combine horseradish and heavy cream. Mix over medium speed for about 5 minutes until a whipped cream consistency is achieved.
6
Remove the bowl from the mixer and fold in fresh chives and Parmesan cheese.
7
Assembly: Spread 2 teaspoons of horseradish whip onto each piece of bread.
8
Slice the rested steak into 12 equal-sized pieces. Top each bread slice with a steak piece and fresh arugula.
