Pork Humba
This Filipino tender pork dish with black beans is a very flavorful dish. With all of the flavors, this dish will become a family favorite if it isn’t already!
Ingredients
1 pound pork belly, sliced into pieces
1/4 cup white vinegar
1 medium onion, sliced
1 tbsp minced garlic
1/3 cup soy sauce
1/4 cup Ponzu sauce
1 can 7-Up
1 can pineapple chunks (20 oz can)
3-4 bay leaves
1 can black beans, drained
Cooked Rice
Salt and pepper to taste

Sauté the pork belly pieces in a large sauté pan and render out the fat. If there is an excess of fat, remove all but about 2 tbsp from the pan.

Add the white vinegar, sliced onion and minced garlic to the pan and continue sautéing for about 5 minutes.

Add the soy sauce, Ponzu sauce, 7-up, pineapple chunks and syrup, bay leaves and black beans to the pan. Mix everything together, reduce heat to a simmer and cook for about 25-30 minutes or until the pork belly is tender.

Serve the pork humba with steamed rice and enjoy!
