Food has a way of creating powerful memories throughout our lives! My friend Kari Hawker Diaz shares her beloved Aunt Paula’s chocolate chip cookie recipe with us all.
Ingredients
1 cube margarine
1 cup shortening
1 cup white sugar
1 cup brown sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp vanilla
3 cups flour
1 tsp salt
1 tsp soda
1 pkg semi-sweet chocolate chips
Instructions
1
Cream together the margarine, shortening, white and brown sugars until lightly and fluffy.
2
Add the eggs and vanilla mixing everything together, scraping down the sides as needed.
3
Add the salt and soda throughly mixing the ingredients, scraping down the sides as needed.
4
Add the chocolate chips and mix into the dough throughly.
5
Spoon about a tablespoon each of cookie dough onto a parchment line baking sheet filling it up with drop cookies.
6
Bake in a pre-heated 350 degree oven for 8-10 minutes or until golden brown.
7
When cooked, remove from the oven and let the cookies cool for about 5 minutes on the cookie sheet before removing them. Serve and enjoy!
