One-Pot Tuna Casserole with Green Beans and Almonds

Simple Cooking with the heart brings you this great on-pot American dish that is easy to make and easy on your wallet.

Ingredients

16 ounces frozen green beans, thawed
2 garlic cloves, minced
2 tbsp chopped almonds
1 medium onions, diced
1 bell pepper, diced
2 stalks celery, chopped
15 ounces canned albacore tuna packed in water
2 tbsp light mayonnaise
3 tbsp fat-free, plain yogurt
1/2 cup whole grain cereal flakes
1/2 tsp red pepper flakes, optional
Salt and pepper according to dietary needs
Vegetable spray

Instructions

In an oven safe pan, spray with vegetable spray and saute the green beans with some garlic and chopped almonds for about 5 minutes or until tender. Keep warm in the oven.

In another oven safe pan, spray with vegetable spray and saute onions, bell pepper and celery for about 5 minutes. Add the drained tuna, mayonnaise and plain yogurt mixing everything together. Sprinkle with bran flakes and bake in a preheated 350 degree oven for about about 10 minutes.

Remove from the oven and let sit for about 5 minutes before serving. Serve with the green beans on the side. Enjoy!
