New Year’s Day Honey Sriracha Chicken Wings

Ring in the New Year with a plate of flavorful Honey Sriracha Chicken Wings! These wings are sweet, spicy, and perfect for sharing with friends and family. Whether you’re watching the big game or hosting a cozy gathering, this recipe will kick off your year with a delicious bang.

Ingredients

2 pounds chicken wings, drumettes and flats separated

1 tsp salt

1/2 tsp black pepper

1/2 tsp garlic powder

1/2 tsp smoked paprika

1 tbsp olive oil

For the Sauce: 1/3 cup honey

1/4 cup sriracha sauce

2 tbsp soy sauce

1 tbsp rice vinegar

1 tsp sesame oil

1 tsp cornstarch mixed with 1 tsp water (optional, for thickening)

Instructions

1
Prep the Wings:
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Pat the chicken wings dry with paper towels and place them in a large bowl. Add salt, pepper, garlic powder, smoked paprika, and olive oil. Toss until the wings are evenly coated.
2
Bake the Wings:
Arrange the wings on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper or a wire rack. Make sure they are in a single layer. Bake for 40-45 minutes, flipping halfway through, until the wings are crispy and cooked through.
3
Make the Sauce:
While the wings are baking, prepare the sauce. In a small saucepan, combine honey, sriracha, soy sauce, rice vinegar, and sesame oil. Heat over medium-low heat, stirring occasionally, until the sauce is slightly thickened. If desired, add the cornstarch slurry and cook for another minute to thicken further.
4
Coat the Wings:
Once the wings are done, transfer them to a large bowl. Pour the honey sriracha sauce over the wings and toss until they are fully coated.
5
Serve:
Garnish with sesame seeds and chopped green onions if desired. Serve immediately with ranch or blue cheese dressing and celery sticks on the side.
