Mushroom and Swiss Burger

Mushroom and Swiss Burger Delight

Elevate your burger game with this mouthwatering Mushroom and Swiss Burger! Juicy beef patties are topped with savory sautéed mushrooms and melted Swiss cheese, all nestled in a toasted bun. This classic combo is perfect for a satisfying lunch or dinner that will please the whole family.

Ingredients

For the Burger: 1 pound ground beef (80/20 blend for juiciness)
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
For the Mushrooms: 1 tablespoon butter
8 ounces mushrooms (such as cremini or button), sliced
1 clove garlic, minced
Salt and pepper to taste
For Assembling: 4 slices Swiss cheese
4 hamburger buns
Lettuce leaves
Sliced tomatoes
Optional: sliced red onion, pickles, condiments (mustard, ketchup, mayo)

Instructions

1
Prepare the Mushrooms: In a skillet over medium heat, melt the butter. Add the sliced mushrooms and cook until they release their moisture and begin to brown, about 5-7 minutes. Add the minced garlic and cook for another minute. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Remove from heat and set aside.
2
Prepare the Burgers: In a mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, salt, pepper, and Worcestershire sauce. Gently mix until combined, being careful not to overwork the meat. Divide the mixture into four equal portions and shape each into a patty.
3
Cook the Burgers: Preheat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the patties for about 3-4 minutes per side for medium-rare, or until cooked to your desired level of doneness. In the last minute of cooking, place a slice of Swiss cheese on each patty to melt.
4
Assemble the Burgers: Toast the hamburger buns if desired. Place a lettuce leaf and a slice of tomato on the bottom bun. Add the burger patty topped with Swiss cheese, then pile on the sautéed mushrooms. Add any additional toppings or condiments as desired. Top with the other half of the bun.
5
Serve: Serve the burgers immediately with your favorite sides, such as sweet potato fries or a fresh salad.
