Mashed Potatoes and Gravy
Mashed potatoes are a must for Thanksgiving or anytime of the year. Here’s an easy way to make amazing mashed potatoes and gravy to go with any meal!
Ingredients
For the Mashed Potatoes:
6 large russet potatoes, peeled
8-10 cups turkey stock
4 tbsp butter
1 tbsp dijon mustard
1/3 cup powdered milk
For the Gravy:
4 tbsp butter
1/3 cup flour
6 cups turkey stock
salt and pepper to taste

Peel the russet potatoes and cut into 1-2 inch pieces and place them in a large pot and cover with turkey stock. If desired, you can use any type of stock you wish.

Boil the potatoes until they are fork tender. Remove from the heat and let them sit in the hot stock for about 10 minutes.

Strain the potatoes and reserve the stock.

Mash the potatoes with 4 tbsp of butter, dijon mustard, powdered milk and the 1/2 cup turkey stock. Salt and pepper to taste.

To make the pan gravy, heat a large pan on the stove and add the remaining 4 tbsps of butter to the pan and melt. To the melted butter, add the flour and whisk together with the melted butter.

Whisk in the 6 cups of turkey stock and any drippings from the roasted turkey. Bring to a boil, reduce to a simmer and cook for 5 minutes while stirring. Adjust salt and pepper, serve with the mashed potatoes.
