
Hungarian Potato and Sausage Soup
Hearty and filling this soup can be made with basic pantry ingredients. Enjoy a hearty soup with a spicy kick to clear out that head and fill your belly!

Ingredients
4 tbsp butter
1 pound sausage
1 onions, chopped
1 tbsp minced garlic
1 tbsp paprika
1/2 tsp cayenne pepper
1/4 cup flour
2 cups chopped cabbage
4 medium potatoes, peeled and chopped
5-6 carrots, peeled and chopped
6-8 cups chicken stock
2 bay leaves
1 cup sour cream
Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions

Heat a large pot on the stove and add the butter and cook the sausage.

Add the chopped onion, garlic, paprika and cayenne pepper. Sauté for about 5 minutes.

Sprinkle with flour and mix everything together.

Add the chopped cabbage, potatoes, carrots and chicken stock along with the bay leaves. Gently mix everything together to incorporate. Bring to a boil, reduce heat and simmer for about 20 minutes or until the potatoes and carrots are cooked through.

Divide the soup and sour cream between 6-8 bowls, top with some chopped green onions or chives, sprinkling of paprika and enjoy!
