Hot and Spicy Soup
Delicious hot and spicy soup is a great idea for dinner. The ingredients for this recipe can easily be found at any Asian supermarket.
Ingredients
3 cups chicken stock
1/4 cup julienned bamboo shoots
1/4 cup julienned carrot strips
1/4 cup julienned wood ear mushrooms
1/4 cup julienned shitake mushrooms
1 cup julienned extra firm tofu
3 slices fresh ginger
1 tbsp soy sauce
2 tbsp chili bean sauce
1 tsp sugar
2 1/2 tbsp cornstarch
1 tbsp water
1 egg beaten
2 tbsp Chinese black vinegar
2 tsp white pepper
1 tsp sesame seed oil
Instructions

To your sauce pan, add the chicken stock, julienned bamboo shoots, carrot strips, wood ear mushrooms, shiitake mushrooms, extra firm tofu and the fresh ginger slices. Bring to a boil, reduce heat to a simmer and cook for 3 minutes.

Add the soy sauce, chili bean sauce and sugar. Stir everything together. If needed add additional salt for flavoring.

In a small bowl, whisk the cornstarch and water together. Pour into the soup while stirring. Bring the soup back to a simmer and cook for 3 minutes.

Drizzle the beaten egg into the soup, water couple of minutes than stir to break the egg ribbons into smaller egg ribbons.

Stir in the Chinese black vinegar, white pepper and sesame seed oil. Remove from the heat, serve and enjoy!
