Glazed Ham
Baking ham is a delicious aroma in the house and easy to bake. By adding a few simple ingredients to the glaze, you will have a new family favorite!
Ingredients
1 bone in ham shank 8-10 pounds
20-30 whole cloves
5 herbal apple cinnamon tea bags
1/2 cup water
1/2 cup pineapple juice
1/2 cup honey
1/3 cup sugar
Instructions
1
Criss-cross cut the ham and into each criss-cross cut push a whole clove into the center of the diamond cut.
2
Cover the ham with pineapple rings (if desired) securing them with a toothpick.
3
Bake the ham in a pre-heated 350 degree oven for about 15 minutes a pound or until it reaches 145 degreeās internally.
4
If the ham starts to brown too quickly, tent it with aluminum foil.
5
While the ham is cooking, in a sauce pan combine the apple cinnamon tea bags, water, pineapple juice, honey and sugar. Bring to a boil and remove from the heat.
6
When the ham is about 30 minutes from being cooked, start to baste the ham with the basting liquid. Do not baste too early, otherwise, the sugar will burn on the ham.
7
When finished, remove the ham and let it rest for 10 minutes before carving. Serve with your favorite side dishes and enjoy!
