Corn Dogs and Hot Dogs

Fair Corn Dogs

Corn dogs and hot dogs are a staple at any fair. I love eating mine with ketchup and mustard and walking around people watching. How do you like to eat yours?

Ingredients

1 cup self-rising flour
2/3 cups cornmeal
1/3 cup sugar
2 tsp baking powder
2 eggs, beaten
1 cup milk
oil for deep frying
salt and pepper to taste
wooden sticks

Instructions

Heat oil in your deep fryer to 370 degrees.

In a large bowl combine all the ingredients and whisk together until smooth (salt and pepper to taste).

Dip the hot dogs in the batter and let excess batter drip off. Deep fry until golden brown.

Remove the corn dogs from the deep fryer and place on a plate that has been lined with paper towels.

Allow the corn dogs to cool slightly. When cool enough to touch, insert the wooden stick into one end of the dog.

Serve with your favorite condiments and enjoy!
