Ingredients

4-5 habanero peppers, deseeded (adjust to your preferred heat level)
1 medium onion, finely chopped
2 tablespoons minced garlic or 7 garlic cloves
6 stalks of green onions, chopped
1/4 cup soy sauce
1/4 cup white vinegar
2 tablespoons olive oil
Juice of one lime
1-inch piece of fresh ginger, peeled
1 teaspoon nutmeg
1 tablespoon allspice
1 teaspoon cinnamon
2-3 tablespoons dark brown sugar
1 tablespoon sea salt (or to taste)
1 tablespoon black pepper (or to taste)

Instructions

Gather all your ingredients and prepare them as indicated.

In your blender or food processor, combine habanero peppers, chopped onion, minced garlic, green onions, soy sauce, white vinegar, olive oil, lime juice, peeled ginger, nutmeg, allspice, cinnamon, dark brown sugar, sea salt, and black pepper.

Blend or process the mixture until it reaches a smooth and consistent texture.

As a marinade, generously coat your choice of meat with the jerk sauce. For a plant-based option, consider using extra-firm tofu that has been marinated.

Cook your marinated meat or tofu until fully cooked. Once done, remove from heat and get ready to create your flavorful wrap.
