Salt and pepper to taste
For the Baking Powder Biscuits: 3 cups self-rising flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
3/4 cup cold butter, cubed
1 1/2 cups milk

Instructions

1
To make the creamed peas and ham, melt the butter in a saucepan over medium heat.
2
Add flour to the melted butter and cook for 1-2 minutes to create a roux.
3
Gradually whisk in the evaporated milk, creating a smooth and thickened sauce.
4
Add the frozen peas and diced ham to the saucepan, stirring until combined.
5
Simmer for 5-7 minutes, until heated through.
6
Season with salt and pepper to taste.
7
To make the baking powder biscuits, preheat the oven to 400°F.
8
In a food processor, add self-rising flour, salt and cubed butter, pulsing until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
9
Transfer to a large mixing bowl, then add the milk gradually, stirring until a dough forms.
10
Place the dough on a floured surface, knead gently, then roll out to a 1/2-inch thickness.
11
Use a biscuit cutter to cut out individual biscuits, placing them on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
12
Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until golden brown.
13
Serve the cream peas and ham over the warm biscuits or you can boil some potatoes and serve over hot potatoes too.
