Classic BLT with Red Onion Jam
BLT sandwiches are one of my favorite summertime sandwiches. This sandwich is unique, whereas, I use a red onion jam to really make this sandwich stand out!
Ingredients
8 slices white bread, can use any kind of bread
12 slices bacon
sliced iceberg lettuce
sliced garden fresh tomatoes
Red onion jam or mayonnaise
salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
1
Pan cook the bacon until crispy. Once cooked, transfer the cooked bacon to a paper towel lined plate to drain any excess grease.
2
While the bacon is cooking, toast the bread, make sure your iceberg lettuce is slice as well as the tomatoes.
3
Once the bread is toasted and the bacon is fully cooked. Carefully dip the toasted bread into the bacon grease to lightly coat one side of the toasted bread.
4
Spread the red onion jam (here’s the link to the recipe for red onion jam: https://cookingwithchefbryan.com/recipe-view/tri-tip-beef-sandwich-with-red-onion-jam/ ) or mayonnaise on the toast and build the BLT with the bacon, tomatoes and iceberg lettuce.

Serve with your favorite sides and enjoy!
