Cinnamon Sticky Buns
These cinnamon sticky buns are perfect for breakfast, brunch or a yummy lunch dessert. Serve anytime and enjoy!
Ingredients
For the Dough:
1 1/4 cup milk
1/4 cup butter, melted
1 tbsp instant yeast
1 egg
1/4 cup sugar
4 cups flour
3/4 tsp salt
For the Sticky Coating:
1/2 cup butter
1 cup brown sugar
1/2 maple syrup
For the Dough Filling:
2/3 cup brown sugar
1 tbsp cinnamon
4 tbsp melted butter

To make the dough, add all of the ingredients into your mixer and mix for 10 minutes. If needed, add additional flour to form a soft dough.

Remove the dough from the mixing bowl and shape into a ball. Transfer the dough to a bowl that has been spray with vegetable spray. Spray the top of the dough with vegetable spray and cover the bowl with plastic wrap. Let the dough dough in size.

To make the sticky filling, add the 1/2 cup butter, brown sugar and maple syrup to a sauce pan and while stirring, bring to a boil. Remove from the heat and set aside.

Spray a 9x13 baking dish with vegetable spray and pour the sticky filling mixture into the prepared 9x13 pan. Set aside until ready to use.

Once the dough has doubled in size, roll it into a rectangle about 14x10. Melt the 4 tbsp of butter in the in a sauce pan and brush the melted butter on the rolled out dough.

In a small bowl mix the 2/3 cups of brown sugar and 1 tbsp cinnamon together to combine. Sprinkle the cinnamon sugar mixture over the top of the dough.

From the long end, roll the dough up. Cut the dough into 12 cinnamon rolls.

Arrange the cinnamon rolls in the 9x13 pan, loosely cover the a dish towel and let the dough double in size again.

Bake the prepared cinnamon sticky buns in a preheated 350 degree oven for about 30 minutes or until golden brown.

Remove from the oven and let the cinnamon sticky buns cool for 10 minutes. Using a butter knife, go around the edge of the baking dish to make sure the buns are free from the pan.

Place a large plate or cutting board over the cinnamon sticky buns and very carefully invert the pan, releasing the cinnamon sticky buns onto the large platter or cutting board. Be careful not to burn yourself and use a hot pad as needed. Serve and enjoy!
