Chow Mein
Technically this dish would be considered lo-mein but however you call it, it’s delicious! Vegetables, noodles and spices come together to make a wonderful and easy dinner for the whole family!
Ingredients
1 package lo-mein noodles
3 carrots, peeled and sliced into sticks
3 celery stalks, cut into sticks
1/4 cabbage head, sliced
1 onion, sliced
1 1/2 cups sliced shiitake mushrooms
1 bunch green onions, sliced into 2 inch sticks
1/4 cup soy sauce
3 tbsp oyster sauce
1 tbsp sesame seed oil
1 tbsp sugar
1/4 cup Chinese black vinegar or rice vinegar
1 tsp black pepper
Vegetable oil
Instructions

Cook the noodles according to the package directions, drain and set aside.

Heat a large pan on the stove and add enough oil to lightly coat the bottom of the pan.

To the large pan, add the prepared carrots, celery, cabbage, onion and shiitake mushrooms. Sauté everything together for about 3-4 minutes.

Add the noodles and green onions sautéing everything together once again.

In a small bowl, mix the sour sauce, oyster sauce, sesame seed oil, sugar, vinegar and black pepper together until combined. Pour over the noodles in the pan and gently mix everything together. Serve and enjoy!
