Chili Cheese Dog Recipe | A Classic and Indulgent Treat

Indulge in the classic and indulgent delight of my Chili Cheese Dog recipe. Grilled hot dogs are nestled in soft buns and generously topped with flavorful chili and melted cheddar cheese. This crowd-pleasing dish is a favorite for casual gatherings, game nights, or whenever you’re in the mood for a satisfying treat.

Ingredients

4 hot dog buns
4 hot dogs
2 cups prepared chili
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
1/4 cup diced onions (optional)
1/4 cup diced pickled jalapeños (optional)
Ketchup, mayo and mustard, for topping

Instructions

1
Preheat your grill or stovetop griddle over medium heat.
2
Place the hot dogs on the grill and cook until they are heated through and have grill marks. Alternatively, you can boil the hot dogs according to the package instructions.
3
While the hot dogs are cooking, heat the chili in a small saucepan over medium heat until warmed through.
4
Open the hot dog buns and place them on the grill or griddle, cut side down, to lightly toast them. Remove them from the heat once they are slightly crispy.
5
Place a cooked hot dog into each bun.
6
Spoon a generous amount of chili over each hot dog.
7
Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese over the chili-topped hot dogs.
8
If desired, add diced onions and jalapeños as additional toppings.
9
Finish by drizzling ketchup and mustard over the assembled chili cheese dogs.
10
Serve immediately while the hot dogs and toppings are still hot.
