Chicken or Cauliflower Stir Fry with General Tso Sauce
Stir fry is always a delicious idea for dinner and paired with General Tso sauce is the best way to serve it!
Ingredients
2 chicken breasts, cut into cubes
1 head cauliflower, cut into florets
2 eggs
1/3 cup water
2 cups flour
1/4 cup rice vinegar
1/4 cup soy sauce
2 tbsp sugar
2 tbsp brown sugar
1 tbsp granulated garlic
3 tbsp hoisin sauce
2 tsp sesame oil
2 tsp red pepper flakes
1 tbsp corn starch
4 cups stir fry vegetable mix
4 cups cooked rice
Vegetable oil for frying
Instructions
1
Add the eggs and water to a bowl and whisk together, set aside.
2
Add the flour to a separate bowl.
3
Dredge the cauliflower florets in the flour, than the egg and than back into the flour. Deep fry until golden brown (about 4-5 minutes). If you want a crispier crust double dredge in the flour and egg again before frying.
4
After you finish frying the cauliflower, do the same with the chicken. Be sure to do the cauliflower before the chicken so you don’t cross-contaminate anything.
5
In a sauce pan, add the rice vinegar, soy sauce, sugar, brown sugar, granulated garlic, hoisin sauce, sesame seed oil, pepper flakes and corn starch, whisking everything together to combine. Bring to a boil and reduce to a simmer while stirring for about 5 minutes. Remove from the heat and set aside.
6
Sauté the vegetables until warmed through.
7
Toss the deep fried cauliflower and or chicken in the general Tso sauce and serve with the stir fried vegetables and rice. Enjoy!
