
Better Than Takeout Beef Lo Mein
This delicious recipe truly is better than take out. Lo mein is a favorite of mine and whichever type of protein you choose to add to it is up to you. Be creative and enjoy this delicious recipe.

Ingredients
1 pound beef, cut into bitesize pieces
1 small onion, thinly sliced
2 cups chopped cabbage
1 carrot, peeled and julienned
1 tbsp freshly minced ginger
1 cup bean sprouts
4 green onions, chopped
1 tbsp shaohsing rice cooking wine
1 pkg lo mein noodles (16 oz pkg)
Beef Marinade:
1/4 tsp baking soda
1 tsp cornstarch
1 tsp sugar
1 tsp soy sauce
1 tsp shaohsing rice cooking wine
1 tsp cooking oil
For the sauce:
1 tbsp cornstarch
2 tsp sugar
1/2 tsp white pepper
1 tsp salt
1/3 cup chicken stock
1/4 cup soy sauce
2 tbsp oyster sauce
1-2 tsp toasted sesame seed oil
Instructions

Place the pieces of beef in a large bowl and add the baking soda, cornstarch, sugar soy sauce, shaohsing rice cooking wine and the cooking oil. Using your hands, mix/massage the marinade ingredients into the beef. Set aside for about 20 minutes.

Cook the lo mein noodles according to the package directions, once cooked rinse under cold water throughly, set aside.

Mix the sauce ingredients together in a small bowl and set aside.

Heat a large wok or frying pan on the stove and add enough cooking oil to light coat the bottom of the pan.

Add the beef and fully cook, once cooked, add the vegetables and sauté for about 2 minutes.

Add the noodles to the pan, stir fry everything together to combine. Push the noodles mixture to one side and pour in the sauce. Let the sauce come to a boil and thicken before mixing into the lo mein mixture.

Serve with your favorite sides and enjoy.
