Beef Stroganoff
Chef Jeff Jacks0n from Smiths Grocery Store shares his delicious Beef Stroganoff recipe with us.
Ingredients
2 lbs. beef round steak
1 tsp salt
1 tsp pepper
6 ounces butter, split in 3 oz portions
2 cups sliced mushrooms
1 medium onion, chopped
2 tsp minced garlic
1/3 cup flour
4 cups beef broth
2 tsp Worcestershire sauce
1 tsp dijon mustard
1 tsp paprika
3/4 cup sour cream
1 lb egg noodles, uncooked
Instructions
1
Slice the beef into thin slices against the grain into bitesize pieces. Season with salt, pepper, and paprika.
2
In a large skillet over medium high heat, melt 3 oz of the butter. Brown the beef on all sides then remove from the pan and set aside. Add the remaining butter to the pan, then add the mushrooms, onions and garlic and cook for 5-8 minutes. Add the flour and stir to combine. Cook 2 more minutes.
3
Add the beef broth and stir with a whisk to get rid of any lumps of flour. Bring the sauce to a simmer. Add the Worcestershire, mustard and sour cream. Bring back to a simmer then add the beef back to the pan. Simmer for 10 additional minutes.
4
While the sauce simmers, cook the noodles to package instructions.
5
Serve the noodles covered with the sauce and enjoy!
