Beef Lo Mein

Beef Lo Mein

This recipe was creating due to a happy moment in the kitchen while trying to figure out what to make for dinner. It’s an easy recipe to scale for a large family or a single individual. However you make it, you’re gonna really enjoy it!

Ingredients

1 pound beef steak, thinly sliced
1 tbsp cornstarch
2 tbsp soy sauce
1 tbsp sesame seed oil
1/3 cup soy sauce
2 tbsp oyster sauce
1 tbsp hoisin sauce
1 tbsp cornstarch
2 cups chopped cabbage
2 cups broccoli florets
2 large carrots, peeled and sliced
1 bell pepper, sliced
1 bunch green onions, chopped
4 cups egg noodles, cooked and drained
Oil for frying

Instructions

To velvet the beef, add the thinly sliced beef to a large bowl and add the 1 tbsp cornstarch, 2 tbsp soy sauce and 1 tbsp sesame seed oil mixing everything together until well combined. Let marinate for 30 minutes.

Heat about 2-3 inches of oil in your wok and deep fry the marinated beef for about 1 minutes, remove from the oil setting the aside and empty all but a couple of tbsps of oil from the wok.

In a small bowl, mix the 1/3 cup soy sauce, 2 tbsp oyster sauce, 1 tbsp hoisin sauce and 1 tbsp cornstarch together and set aside.

To the wok add the chopped cabbage, broccoli florets, carrots, bell pepper and chopped green onions. Saute everything together for a couple of minutes. Add the beef into the mixture and saute for an additional minute or until the beef has cooked.

Add the cooked egg noodles mixing them into the stir fry. Add the sauce mixture to the stir fry and continue cooking for about a minute (while stirring/mixing) to cook the sauce and coat the lo mein with the sauce.

Serve with your favorite sides and enjoy.
