Banana Bread Smoothie

Banana Bread Smoothie

A delicious heart healthy breakfast idea from The American Heart Association. I like to serve this banana bread smoothie with avocado toast on whole grain bread.

Ingredients

2 medium bananas (peeled, sliced)
2 tablespoons old-fashioned oats
1/2 cup fat-free milk
1/4 cup plain non-fat yogurt
2 teaspoons real maple syrup
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon, plus more if desired for garnish
1 1/2 cups ice cubes
1 tablespoon finely chopped unsalted pecans or walnuts (optional)

Instructions

Place everything into your blender and blend until smooth.

Pour into two glasses and dust the tops with cinnamon.

Serve with avocado toast or your favorite breakfast and enjoy!
