Baked Beef Flautas

Get ready to enjoy these crispy, cheesy baked beef flautas! Perfect as a meal or appetizer, these flautas are filled with seasoned beef and melted cheese, and baked to perfection. Serve them with your favorite dips for a crowd-pleasing dish.

Ingredients

1 lb ground beef
1 small onion, finely chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 tsp chili powder
1 tsp ground cumin
1/2 tsp paprika
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp black pepper
1/4 cup tomato sauce
1/4 cup beef broth
12 small flour tortillas
1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or Monterey Jack)
Olive oil/Cooking spray
Sour cream, for serving
Salsa, for serving
Guacamole, for serving

Instructions

1
In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef until browned. Drain any excess fat. Add the chopped onion and minced garlic to the skillet. Cook until the onion is soft and translucent.
2
Stir in the chili powder, ground cumin, paprika, salt, and black pepper. Cook for 1-2 minutes until the spices are fragrant. Add the tomato sauce and beef broth to the skillet. Stir to combine and let the mixture simmer for about 5 minutes, or until most of the liquid has evaporated. Remove from heat and set aside.
3
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it. Lay out the flour tortillas on a clean surface. Place a spoonful of the beef filling along the center of each tortilla. Sprinkle shredded cheese over the beef filling. Tightly roll up each tortilla and place it seam-side down on the prepared baking sheet. Lightly spray the rolled flautas with olive oil spray to help them crisp up in the oven.
4
Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until the flautas are golden brown and crispy. Remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes before serving.
5
Serve the baked beef flautas with sour cream, salsa, and guacamole on the side. Enjoy!
6
***TIP*** You can make the beef filling ahead of time and store it in the refrigerator for up to 2 days. For extra crispy flautas, you can brush them lightly with olive oil before baking instead of using the spray.
