These delicious Asian cabbage rolls are fun to make and a great idea for lunch or dinner. Have fun making these rolls for your family and friends!
Ingredients
10-12 cabbage leaves
2 pounds ground pork
2 tbsp freshly minced ginger
4 garlic cloves, minced
1 small onion, finely chopped
1 bunch green onions, chopped and divided
1/4 cup hoisin sauce
2 tbsp oyster sauce
2 tbsp soy sauce
1 tbsp mirin
1 cup chopped re-hydrated mushrooms, water reserved
1 tbsp cornstarch
Instructions
1
To remove the leaves from the head of cabbage, cut the root end out of the cabbage and blanche it for a few minutes. The leaves easily peel away.
2
In a large bowl, add the ground pork minced ginger, garlic and finely chopped onion. Add half of the chopped green onions along with the hoisin sauce, oyster sauce, soy sauce, mirin and the chopped mushrooms. Mix everything together until well combined.
3
Divide the pork mixture between cabbage leaves and roll the cabbage leaves up, folding in the sides to create your cabbage roll.
4
Place the cabbage rolls in a steamer basket (seam side down) and steam for 10-15 minutes to fully cook the pork.
5
To make the gravy, with the reserve water from re-hydrating the mushrooms, mix in 1 tbsp cornstarch and bring to a boil. Spoon the gravy over the cabbage rolls, sprinkle with the remaining green onions, serve and enjoy!
