Apple Crisp Pizza
Here’s a delicious idea for dessert that really easy to make and presents beautifully on the table. Drizzle with warm caramel and serve with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
Ingredients
One Pie Crust Recipe
2 cans apple pie filling
1/2 cup flour
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 rolled oats
1/4 cup melted butter
1 tsp cinnamon
Instructions
1
I use my Chef Bryan pie crust recipe which is enough to make approximately 4 mini (personal size) apple crisp pizzas with a little extra dough left over.
2
Divide the pie crust into 4 equal portions and roll each portion out to about 6-8 inch rounds.
3
Remove the pie filling from the cans onto a cutting board and finally chop up the pie filling apples so they are small pieces.
4
Divide the prepared pie filling between the four rolled out pieces of dough. I like to use personal pan size pizza rounds but you can place the prepared rounds on baking sheets if you don’t have the pizza pans.
5
In a large bowl, combine the flour, brown sugar, rolled oats, melted butter and cinnamon. Mix everything to gather until well combined. If desired, make an additional make of the “crisp” topping if you like a lot of topping.
6
Divide the topping between the mini apple crisp pizzas, and place them in the oven. Bake for approximately 25 minutes or until the crust is cooked and the top is golden brown.
7
Remove from the oven and drizzle with caramel sauce and top with ice cream if desired.
