5 bean chili with cinnamon and sugar breadsticks

5 Bean Chili with Cinnamon Sugar Breadsticks

Warm everyone up with this delicious 5 bean chili with cinnamon and sugar breadstick dippers.

Ingredients

For the Chili: 1 medium onions, sliced
1 pound ground hamburger
5 cans assorted beans (your choice)
1 can diced tomatoes (28 oz can)
1 pkg your favorite chili seasoning
Vegetable oil
For the Cinnamon Sugar Breadsticks: 1 pkg Rhodes Bake and Serve dinners rolls, thawed
cinnamon and sugar mixture
Vegetable Spray

Instructions

1
To make the chili, heat a large pot on the stove and add enough oil to lightly coat the bottom of the pot.
2
Add the sliced onion to the pot and saute until fragrant (about 3 minutes).
3
Add the ground hamburger to the onions and brown. I like to use lean hamburger so I don’t have too much grease.
4
Add the cans of diced tomatoes, bean (liquid and all) to the hamburger mixture along with the package of your favorite chili seasoning mix. Stir to incorporate everything and simmer for about 20 minutes making sure the hamburger is fully cooked. Taste for salt and pepper and adjust as needed.
5
To make the cinnamon sugar breadsticks, preheat your oven to 350 degrees.
6
Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and lightly spray it with vegetable spray.
7
Roll each dinner roll out to about the length of your finger and place them on the prepared baking sheet.
8
Spray the “fingers” with vegetable spray.
9
Sprinkle the “fingers” with cinnamon and sugar, rolling them in an excess on the baking sheet.
10
Place the fingers/breadsticks in the oven and bake for about 20 minutes or until the are turning golden brown.
11
I like to serve the chili in pre-baked acorn squash that are hot with a sprinkle of sharp cheddar cheese and a dollop of herb infused sour cream on top accompanied by the cinnamon sugar breadsticks. Enjoy!
