Chicken Shawarma
If you’ve never had a shawarma, it’s time you make them. You can use any kind of protein you choose to create this culinary delight.
Ingredients
4-5 pitas
Sliced dill pickles
3-4 chicken breasts cut into strips (can use thighs too)
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp paprika
1 tsp turmeric
1 tsp cumin
2 tbsp tomato paste
juice of one lime
For the fries:
2-3 russet potatoes, cut into french fries
1 tbsp cornstarch
1 tbsp paprika
1 tbsp season salt
2 tsp black pepper
For the Sauce:
1/4 cup plain Greek yogurt
1/4 cup mayonnaise
2 tsp garlic powder
juice of one lime
salt to taste

Set the pitas and dill pickles aside until ready to assemble the shawarmas.

Add the sliced chicken into a large bowl along with the garlic poser, paprika, turmeric, cumin, tomato paste and lime juice mixing everything together. Add salt as desired and cook chicken pieces until fully cooked through, set aside.

Place the french fry cut potatoes in a large bowl and sprinkle with cornstarch. Toss the french fries and cornstarch together, coating the fries. Fry or bake the fries until done. If frying the fries, sprinkle them with paprika, season salt and black pepper after they come out of the fryer. If baking them, sprinkle with seasoning before they are baked.

Mix the sauce ingredients together until combined.

To assemble spread the sauce on a pita followed by the cooked chicken, fries and sliced pickles. Repeat assembly process.
