Ingredients
1 pizza dough recipe or thawed Rhodes Dough, link in description
1 1/2 cups prepared marinara sauce
16 slices salami
2 cups Mexican style shredded cheese
1 egg
2 tbsp olive oil
2-3 tbsp Italian seasoning
Instructions
1
Preheat your oven to 500 degree’s with the pizza stone in the oven.
2
Roll out a pieces of the dough (about 1 cup worth of dough) to about a 12 inch round.
3
Spoon some prepared marinara sauce onto the rolled out dough and top with salami and cheese. Use whatever leftovers you have to re-purpose a new meal.
4
Fold the dough over on itself and starting from one side, roll the edge of the dough over on itself. Go all the war around the edge folding the dough over on itself to seal the edges.
5
In a small bowl, whisk the egg and olive oil oil together and brush on top of the calzone. Sprinkle with Italian seasoning and bake directly on your preheated baking stone or in your oven until it is golden brown.
6
Remove and serve with a simple marinara sauce for dipping.
