Mongolian Beef

Here’s a delicious recipe for Mongolian beef you’re gonna love! It starts out with a velveting technique to tenderize the meat and finishes off with a delicious sauce! Your family is going to love this!

Ingredients

2 pounds thinly sliced beef
2 tbsp cornstarch
1 egg white
1 tsp baking soda
2 tbsp oyster sauce
1/4 cup soy sauce
2 tbsp sugar
3 tbsp Mirin or Cooking Sherry
1 tbsp minced garlic
1 bunch green onions, chopped
8-10 whole dried chili peppers
Cooked rice

Instructions

To a large bowl, add the thinly sliced beef, cornstarch, egg white and baking soda. Mix everything together to combined. Cover the meat and let it marinade for about 30 minutes.

In a small bowl, whisk the oyster sauce, soy sauce, sugar, Mirin or Cooking Sherry together until combined, set aside.

Heat a large frying pan on the stove. Add enough oil to lightly coat the bottom of the pan. Saute the marinated meat, garlic, green onions and dried chili peppers together until the meat is cooked.

Add the sauce to the meat and saute for a couple of additional minutes so everything is well combined.

Serve with cooked rice and enjoy!
